Based in Birmingham, Alabama, Southern Veterinary Partners is a veterinarian owned and operated regional network of animal hospitals in the Southeast with a goal of providing the highest quality veterinary care to companion animals. Roseville Veterinary Clinic and Plaza Pet Clinic are the ninth and tenth animal hospitals to join Southern Veterinary Partners and represent Southern Veterinary Partners first locations in Virginia.
Jay Price, DVM and CEO of Southern Veterinary Partners says, “With this expansion into Virginia, Southern Veterinary Partners is the largest veterinary company based in the Southeast. By joining Southern Veterinary Partners, Roseville Veterinary Clinic and Plaza Pet Clinic will receive administrative support, including finance, accounting, human resources and marketing, which allows their doctors and staff to focus on their clients and patients.”
Originally opened in 1963, Roseville Veterinary Clinic transitioned from a farm animal hospital into a small animal hospital in 2000 to provide veterinary services to pet owners in Clarke County and the surrounding area of northern Virginia. In 1993, Plaza Pet Clinic opened as an extension of Roseville Veterinary Clinic to provide quality veterinary care to an under-served and developing section of Frederick County, Virginia.
With a Spanish-speaking veterinarian on staff, Plaza Pet Clinic is able to service Hispanic pet owners in the area. Southern Veterinary Partners is pleased to welcome previous owner Dr. Thomas Leahy and hospital manager Jackson Clark along with Roseville Veterinary Clinic associate veterinarians Dr. Jayme Bosley, Dr. Belinda Burwell and Dr. Holly Nightingale and Plaza Pet Clinic associate veterinarians Dr. Andrea Wartluft, Dr. Kristin Longhofer and Dr. Leah Papier to our team.
Dr. Thomas Leahy says “I am excited to join the Southern Veterinary Partners’ family of high-quality veterinary hospitals and proud to be the first hospitals in Virginia to meet their standards for excellence. Their philosophy of staff as family, clients as friends and patients as loved ones coincides with my beliefs for how veterinary medicine should be approached. This association with Southern Veterinary Partners allows me to spend less time on management and administration and more time practicing the veterinary medicine which is so meaningful to me. Southern Veterinary Partners’ dedication to the highest standards of care and the commitment to cutting-edge technology ensures pets in northern Virginia will continue to receive the highest level of care at Roseville Veterinary Clinic and Plaza Pet Clinic. I look forward to continuing to serve pet owners and my community for years to come.“
Southern Veterinary Partners provides centralized support for animal hospitals in its network including marketing, HR, finance and inventory and purchasing management. The hospitals retain their names, culture and local commitment to their communities as well as veterinarians and staff that provide their clients with high-quality veterinary care.
